The Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) has issued standards regarding the implementation of financial reporting requirements for state and local governments who maintain Other Post Employment Benefits (OPEB). The requirements address benefit costs and actuarial liabilities that are to be reflected on financial statements as early as fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2005.
